Abstract

The training of sociocultural managers constitutes a relevant topic that is addressed from different perspectives, including the management of science and technology. The existing literature highlights the importance of developing skills in the management of sociocultural and scientific-technological projects, as well as the ability to analyze the social impact of science on these professionals. However, deficiencies are identified in current training because it does not respond to the need to promote science and technology activities. The research provides a methodology, where the theoretical-cognitive component is integrated into the profile of competencies in the initial training of sociocultural managers (students of the Sociocultural Management degree) at the University of Holguin. From the instrumental point of view, three procedures are provided for managers and teachers in the formation of knowledge, skills, attitudes and values in order to manage science and technology. In the study, various methods (interviews, discussion group and document review) were used to evaluate the initial state of the performance of sociocultural managers in this area. A population of 63 students from the Sociocultural Management program is chosen and 30 are intentionally sampled. In addition, the relevance of the methodology is evaluated by expert criteria.
