Study of the human kidney using comparative anatomy methods to integrate curricular strategies

Abstract

In the preparation of the contents anatomy of the renal system within the subject Cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive and renal systems, technical procedures are proposed in a practical class with methods of comparative anatomy in the career of Medicine. The objective is to propose the implementation of a practical class on the renal system for the second year of medicine, based on comparative anatomy methods to integrate curricular strategies. A quasi-experimental study was conducted at the Faculty of Medical Sciences of Holguín during the 2022-2023 academic year. Theoretical and empirical methods was applied. Curricular strategies are implemented in practice with pig kidneys and are favourable. Students and teachers are in favor of the technique, the results of the systematic evaluation were superior and the percentage of quality grades was increased.
