Pediatric training of medical students for the management of hospitalized adolescents

The objective of the article is to propose a procedure for the pediatric training of medical students in the comprehensive medical care of hospitalized adolescents based on the singular use of the clinical-epidemiological-social method and m-Learning. A cross-sectional quasi-experimental study was carried out on a sample of 46 fourth-year Medicine students who rotate through the Octavio de la Concepción y de la Pedraja Pediatric University Hospital of Holguín. Observation and the Wilcoxon signed rank test were used to establish the research hypothesis. It was found that the proposed procedure contributes to the learning of the clinical-epidemiological-social method and facilitates the pediatric training of students for the comprehensive medical care of hospitalized adolescents. It is concluded that the contents of Pediatrics can be effectively tailored to the care of hospitalized adolescents based on the procedure described and through the use of mobile phones.
