Abstract

In the practice of organizations dedicated to science and innovation activity, this is organized through research, development and innovation projects. For a project to successfully complete with the results achieved in the planned time, the minimum costs and a quality that satisfies the contractors and the beneficiaries, it must be managed by a competent project manager who leads a competent team. The objective of this work is to present a design proposal for the structure of project management competencies. Using the Delphi method of consulting experts, a questionnaire was designed to collect the assessment of the panel of experts in relation to: whether the selected dimensions were appropriate; the correspondence of the variables to each dimension; and the contribution of the indicator to the measurement of the variable. The additive Likert scale was used, applied in a self-administered manner. The statistical treatment was carried out using the professional statistical program package Statistical Package for the Social Sciences SPSS. The reliability analysis of the questionnaire was carried out and 0.987 was obtained as the Cronbach's alpha coefficient value. As a result, a structure for project management competencies was obtained whose dimensions, variables and indicators were very and quite adequate, with a consensus of 47.2% of the indicators that were found to be very appropriate. In conclusion, the experts validated the designed project management competencies, which will contribute to the improvement of training plans on topics related to project management.
