Management of innovation in companies in the agri-food sector. Granma Province

The objective of the work was to evaluate the state of innovation management in companies in the agri-food sector of the Province of Granma. A descriptive-explanatory study was carried out. The methodology of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment was taken as a
basis for the third national innovation survey. Of the indicators contained, those related to the sources of innovation and innovation management were analyzed. The results showed a low level of use of external sources of innovation. Innovation management showed a low level of actions in such important areas as
food production, exports and imports. Among the most important causes are, among others, the homogeneous and outdated regulatory framework; poor tax incentives and little
understanding of the need to link with knowledge centers.
