Designing of a tool for machining multiple hearth furnace arms
Keywords:
Design, Cutting tool, Tools, Machining, StressesAbstract
The purpose of the article was to establish the design of a cutting tool for the machining of multi-
shell furnace arms, in which the final finish is achieved by means of roughing abrasive discs.
Taking into account the stress and tension states to which the cutting tool is subjected, a material used
for these purposes was
selected, and the geometric variables and
parameters that guarantee
a safety factor, in accordance with the technological requirements of the process, were also analyzed. In accordance with the elements previously mentioned, a milling cutter was designed for the machining of the working areas of these arms. The loads and moments acting on its were determined by the analytical method and the von Mises tensile stresses by the finite element method, which were compared with the admissible ones obtained, giving the desired results.
