Risk management in contracting in construction companies: diagnosticvariables
Keywords:
Risk management, Contracting, Diagnostic variables, Construction companiesAbstract
The paper deals with the management of risks associated with contracting in construction companies, whose previous theoretical-methodological development presents, among others, limitations related to the availability of procedural resources for its intentional and systematic
diagnosis. In order to favor the solution of this problem, with the use of modeling and other theoretical research methods, a system consisting of three dimensions, eight indicators and 37 criteria that make up a frame of reference to produce objective, timely and characterizing information related to this process was designed, based on decision-making for continuous improvement. The proposal is based on theoretical-methodological budgets identified from
the conceptions of risk management, contracting and its particularities in organizations in the construction sector and total quality management. It was valued by a group of experts who judged positively its pertinence for the purposes for which it was modeled.
