Abstract

Strengthening preventive work in schools plays a decisive role based on its social mission, aimed at the comprehensive education of future generations. Prevention should constitute, within the pedagogical context, an integrating link in the teaching-educational process. Preventive work must be directed towards enhancing practices aimed at reducing and avoiding risk factors, with the purpose of strengthening the response capacity and autonomy of individuals and society as a whole, in order to promote healthy environments for development. In this work, prevention is understood as a system of actions aimed at minimizing the influences of risk factors that lead to school failure in students with Delay in Psychic Development (DPD) in Primary Education, and it offers validation of alternatives to make feasible the implementation of the teacher’s preventive work through attention to diversity as part of their guiding role.
