This work analyzes the integration of professional ethics into the training of lawyers in Ecuador, it aims to evaluate how academic programs incorporate ethical responsibility beyond technical legal knowledge to shape integral professionals. Using a qualitative methodology, it examines curricula, deontological codes, and conducts interviews with faculty and students. The main results reveal an insufficient integration of ethics into the curriculum, often relegated to an isolated course. The need for active pedagogical methods, such as case study analysis and legal clinics, to develop moral judgment is identified. The key conclusion emphasizes that training a competent lawyer in Ecuador requires a holistic approach that fuses technical excellence with an unwavering commitment to justice and deontology, thereby strengthening society's trust in the legal profession.
