Professional competence in elderly care for family medicine resident physicians
Keywords:

This study reveals theoretical and methodological inadequacies affecting the professional performance of family medicine residents in the care of older adults in the community. The proposed solution involves developing procedures that promote professional competence in elderly care through the integration of workplace education, postgraduate medical training, formative research, and the use of information and communication technologies (ICT). The study identifies key actions that structure these procedures and their execution, whether virtual or in-person, as well as specific methodological invariants. A pre-experimental design was implemented to evaluate the feasibility of these procedures in improving the professional performance of resident doctors.
