Abstract

Currently, the livestock sector in Cuba plays a fundamental role in local development and sustainability, being crucial for the fulfillment of the 2030 Agenda. In order to show the relationship of goat production with the indicators and targets of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and therefore contribute to the prioritization of the same within the business management of Empresa Pecuaria Sierrita and the actions of other stakeholders, this research was carried out. A methodological approach was used that included bibliographic reviews, interviews, direct observations, surveys, group work and statistical calculations. The results reveal that goat production at Empresa Pecuaria Sierrita has a positive impact on 9 SDGs, covering a total of 35 goals. It not only contributes to food and nutrition security, but also promotes sustainable agricultural practices, fosters decent work, economic growth, supports the reduction of inequalities, tackling climate change and women's empowerment. The proposed indicators contribute to the transformation of corporate management through the integration of sustainability criteria, allowing the adoption of a more responsible development model.
